CAT 2019 Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility Pattern
CAT is conducted every year for admission to 19 IIMs across the country. Besides, more than 100 other B-Schools use CAT score to shortlist students for admission to their MBA programs. Around 2.5 Lakh applicants fight it out for approximately 4000 seats in the IIMs. The exam is appeared by some of the best minds in the country and is considered to be one of the most competitive exams in the world. However, contrarily to popular belief, any average student can get a good score and a seat in an IIM with consistent effort, planning, and guidance.
The official notification for CAT 2019 will be released in the month of July along with the exam dates. Candidates are given 1 month period to apply for CAT exam. Here is the schedule for CAT 2019 application form availability, exam dates, and the announcement of results.

CAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for CAT 2019, an aspirant must be a graduate degree holder in any stream. Candidates appearing in the final year/semester of their degree program can also apply for CAT 2019. They should have also scored the required percentage in their graduation degree. The category-wise percentage requirement for CAT 2019 is explained in the table below:

CAT 2019 Application Process
CAT 2019 Application forms will be available in the month of August. Interested candidates can apply online on iimcat.ac.in. The application process is usually a four-step process.
- Registration on CAT 2019 official website.
- Filling up of Application form that includes entering personal details, contact information, academic details, work experience, program preference and exam center preference.
- Uploading scanned copies of documents such as Photograph, Signature, Category certificate and disability certificate.
- Payment of application fee:- CAT 2019 Application fee is Rs 1800/- for General category. It can be paid online via net banking/credit card/debit card. Mentioned below is the category wise application fee for CAT 2019

Last year, IIM Bangalore had also allowed candidates with backlog or supplementary to appear in the CAT 2016 exam.
CAT Exam Pattern
CAT Exam pattern changes every year. This year too the same pattern is said to be followed. The marks allotted for each section is given in the table below:

CAT 2019 Participating Colleges
CAT is conducted mainly for admission to MBA/PGDM programs offered at 20 IIMs. Apart from IIMs, other top management institutes like FMS, MDI, NTIE, SP Jain, Department of Management Studies at IITs, Manipal University, ITM Delhi, Chandigarh University and over 115 management B-schools also accept CAT score as a qualifying criterion for their management programs. The cut-off percentile for IIMs and other top institutes may be above 90 percentile.

CAT Structure
The exam is extremely volatile and its pattern keeps on changing frequently. On a broad level, the overall syllabus can be divided into three sections: Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude.
CAT 2018 Cut off
After the results are declared, each IIM will declare a separate cut off list for shortlisting candidates for the selection procedure. The cut off comprises of an overall cut off and a sectional cut off. Sectional cut off is the percentile a candidate must score in each section of the test paper.
